		Tom Hockaday Tom Hockaday is the Managing Director of Isis Innovation Ltd, the technology transfer company of the University of Oxford. Tom joined Isis in March 2000, following seven years in technology transfer at Bristol University, where he was Managing Director of Bristol Innovations Ltd, and four years at University College London. Tom was Chairman of UNICO in 2003, the UK’s university technology transfer association. Isis provides Oxford University researchers with commercial advice on patenting and licensing, spin-out company formation and managing consulting and services contracts (Isis has concluded over 250 licence agreements, 150 consulting agreements, and assisted in the formation of 49 spin-out companies since 1997). Isis manages the University proof of concept and seed fund; works with the local NHS Hospital Trust to support their technology transfer activities; and in 2004 set up a division to provide consulting expertise on technology transfer to universities, research institutes and governments outside Oxford. www.isis-innovation.com
