Professor Peter Ratcliffe FRS
Head of the Clinical Division of the Nuffield Department of Medicine at the University of Oxford.
Professor Peter Ratcliffe FRS trained as a nephrologist and following an initial interest in renal erythropoietin regulation he has worked on the molecular and cellular physiology of oxygen sensitive signal pathways for more than 15 years, publishing over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts in this and other related fields. In 2005 Peter co-founded ReOx, a biotechnology spinout from the University of Oxford, exploiting Peter’s groundbreaking research. He was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal Society in 2002.
